Clue Quest Summer Camp

August 4th - August 8th 2025

9 AM - 12pm

Ages 9-13

At Joyful Horizons - 20 Church St. Richmond

Does your child love solving puzzles, cracking secret codes, and uncovering hidden clues? In this mystery-filled Clue Quest Camp, kids will step into the shoes of detectives and spies as they explore the secrets of sleuthing through playful challenges and hands-on activities.

Each day brings new missions: writing in invisible ink, decoding ciphers, dusting for fingerprints, building disguises, and playing spy training games. Campers will sharpen their observation skills, think like investigators, and work together to crack mysteries and complete top-secret tasks.

Throughout the week, they’ll build their own spy kit to take home - perfect for future adventures in mystery-solving!

Game Design Camp

July 14 - July 18th 2025

9 AM - 12pm

Ages 9-13

At Joyful Horizons - 20 Church St. Richmond

Does your child love playing games and inventing new ideas? In this playful and hands-on Game Design Camp, kids will dive into the world of games, from board games to playground games, and explore what makes them fun, fair, challenging, or just plain silly.

Throughout the week, campers will design and test a variety of mini-games, experiment with changing rules and mechanics, and explore elements like chance, strategy, storytelling, and teamwork. They'll learn by doing: building, breaking, tweaking, and playing their way through the creative process.

This camp is all about creativity, collaboration, and thinking like a designer - perfect for kids who enjoy inventing, problem-solving, and having fun in the process!

What families are saying about my teaching:

“Jessie has a remarkable ability to connect with each child, meeting them where they are and nurturing their growth. My kids, who are both curious and creative, thrived in her classroom. Jessie’s energetic teaching style transformed mundane subjects into engaging learning experiences, which sparked their enthusiasm for learning. They often said, ‘Jessie can make learning anything exciting!’”

Sarah H. from Underhill

“When our son started working with Jessie, it was his first real school experience after being homeschooled, and she made the transition smooth for him. Jessie created a welcoming environment where he felt comfortable and connected right away. She really saw him—where he was coming from, his strengths and struggles—and was there as an advocate for him from day one.”

Brian S. from Burlington

“Jessie is an excellent teacher! She was able to tailor academics to fit our child's interests. Jessie is excellent at holding many perspectives while helping students work through both social and academic struggles. I absolutely knew my child was in capable and caring hands while Jessie was their teacher!”

Aubrey B. from Montpelier
